We flew to New York the day my exams ended, this was 15 December. From there Imran picked us up, it was quite a long trip to Pittsfield. The temperature was – 8 degrees Centigrade! For a Karachi chick, it was equivalent to stepping into a deep freezer. But the joy of seeing baby Fazal warmed us deep down to the cockles of our heart
I did quite a lot of cooking there but since Imran lives in a small city, procurement of desi food stuff was difficult. My biryani didn’t turn out too well due to the absence of basmati rice.
Fazal is only 2 and a half months but is very responsive. Seeing his smile was enough to make my day. I had never baby sat before since I am the youngest in my family, Fazal taught me quite a few things… Don’t mess with an angry baby!
I can never see him cry.
Mom and dad felt relaxed away from their hectic practices. They finally had time for themselves and made the most of it. We went skiing, i spent more time flat on my back than on the skis
The sales were wonderful, things were dissapearing off shelves faster thna the speed of light. My back was turned and some body “stole” my lovely bath set which I had hidden behind a shelf. Aaah, the pleasures of Macys and Jc Penny!
Moving away from such materialistic endeavours, the highlight of the trip was reuniting with my family. I miss my brothers more than words can express. It’s a throbbing, aching pain constantly with me…
InshAllah I’ll be uploading more snowy pictures soon.
