This is a heart breakingly sweet melody by Bryan Adams that transports you into another world. The kinda world where knights in shining armour exist; true love is still an alive and throbbing force. And where a man can tenderly look into the eyes of his woman and see the future, not the present’s lust.
Is there such love today?
I quote:
To really love a woman
To understand her – you gotta know it deep inside
Hear every thought – see every dream
N’ give her wings – when she wants to fly
Then when you find yourself lyin’ helpless in her arms
You know you really love a woman
When you love a woman you tell her
that she’s really wanted
When you love a woman you tell her that she’s the one
she needs somebody to tell her
that it’s gonna last forever
So tell me have you ever really
- really really ever loved a woman?
To really love a woman
Let her hold you -
til ya know how she needs to be touched
You’ve gotta breathe her – really taste her
Til you can feel her in your blood
N’ when you can see your unborn children in her eyes
You know you really love a woman
When you love a woman
you tell her that she’s really wanted
When you love a woman you tell her that she’s the one
she needs somebody to tell her
that you’ll always be together
So tell me have you ever really -
really really ever loved a woman?
You got to give her some faith – hold her tight
A little tenderness – gotta treat her right
She will be there for you, takin’ good care of you
Ya really gotta love your woman…
Then when you find yourself lyin’ helpless in her arms
You know you really love a woman
When you love a woman you tell her
that she’s really wanted
When you love a woman you tell her that she’s the one
she needs somebody to tell her
that it’s gonna last forever
So tell me have you ever really
- really really ever loved a woman?
Just tell me have you ever really,
really, really, ever loved a woman? You got to tell me
Just tell me have you ever really,
really, really, ever loved a woman?
Unquote.
Why then should a woman settle for a poor and even worse, temporary imitation of the real thing?

Aye Aye.
This bryan Adams guy, he never got over his ‘temporary imitation of the real thing’, result: all those diehard-love songs…:P
I don’t think true love’s defined by the measures he sets. Well. By any measures for that case. Its a different experience for everyone, i believe.
what say you?
April 22, 2008 at 4:02 pm
I think you’re acting more experienced in this respect :p
April 23, 2008 at 4:31 am
HAHAH. Experienced. ehem
Well, i’m atleast entitled to having my own beliefs and opinions
Atleast I’m not saying ‘love sucks’ like i used to at around 18/19 years of age
Perceptions change.

Ahem. I’ve heard of people believing in love when they’re young and getting wiser as they get older.
With you is it the other way round? :p
Most importantly, what has made you believe in your-kinda-love? :p;)

I still dont believe in the shortcut-lov or the ephemeral bf-gf ‘lov’ stupidities.
Thats nonsense.
But then its unfair to label the pretty ‘love’ phenomenon as incredulous or fake.
I think everyone finds/will find true love in a unique form…
April 23, 2008 at 4:03 pm
…they maybe just need to recognize n cherish it.
And btw, love in its true form can only exist after marraige. I believe that too
.
Marraige is like the best test to check the reliability of all these ‘temporary imitations’

Hehehehehe… Excellently put. You’ve pretty much ended the debate here.
